My 43rd Birthday

I celebrated birthday number 43 this past Saturday, May 5. It was so nice to have a Saturday birthday and be able to spend the whole day with my sweet Dwayne and our little angels. We had birthday cupcakes with Spider Man rings on top. Here's a pic of me and the girls with my cupcakes:

We went to see Spider Man 3 in the afternoon wearing our cheesy plastic Spidey rings. Dwayne, Tessa and I really enjoyed the movie, but part of it was disturbing to Bridget. She got freaked out by the black stuff from outer space that jumps onto Spidey and brings out his darker, more vengeful side. It actually scared her a little bit. I felt really bad about that. I had no idea that a Spidey flick would bother her or Tessa. They have watched the first two installments on DVD "noga" times.

The original Spider Man was one of the first movies they loved to watch over and over after they came home with us. Before they could speak English very much, they would say "Tyoh tyah ba lit" (Aunt hurt) sadly at the part where Aunt May is hospitalized after an attack by the Green Goblin. "Goblin mean!" was their other phrase of choice to describe the movie. They loved the part where Spidey takes on the school bully and wanted to watch it over and over. When they tired of Spidey 1, they moved on to Spidey 2 and "Ock Doc" as they still call him. They love that movie, too.

Bridget recuperated from her little scare at the movies when we went to Chili's for dinner. She and Tessa love going to restaurants and our budget doesn't allow for it very often, so they had a blast. Here are some photos of us enjoying the chocolate shakes we had for dessert:

Dwayne and the girls bought me some Pirates of the Caribbean action figures as birthday gifts. Now, I can play with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom . . . grrrrrrr!
